We need friends. We need to socialize. We need to have time face to face with other moms who “get” what we’re going through.
In the midst of this important, essential work of raising families, it’s all too easy to wind up feeling lonely and isolated.
Whether you’re home during the day with little children, spending hours a day shuttling older children back and forth to extracurricular activities, or simply jumping one from one thing to the next as you balance a variety of roles, you (like ALL of us) need other moms.
Join April and Saren in this week’s radio show, as we discuss a variety of ways to get together with other moms, tips for making friendships happen (even when it’s not easy), and encouraging thoughts to get you through extended periods of “alone time” when getting together face-to-face with people just can’t happen very much.
(Maybe this recording can keep you company today!)

I really appreciated what one of you were saying about not fitting in with the working moms but not fitting in with the SAHMs – that’s how I feel! I’m a nurse and I work the evening shift so I’m home during the day. I can do things during the day with the SAHM groups, but I don’t feel like I connect as well. Whereas with the working moms, I feel like we’re on the same page about work-life balance, etc., but they work during the day and have free time in the evenings and weekends when I work! It has been so tricky! I have found ways to connect with other Moms that I work with and friends from church who work part-time (so that we can get together on their days off). I know that this will be a work-in-progress for as long as I work this schedule, and things may change as my kids go through different stages in life.
