Does your situation, family, house, or life ever drive you crazy? Do you ever feel sub-par, behind the game, or like you’ll never “arrive”?
Throughout the month of January, The Power of Moms is focusing on The Power of Acceptance–accepting ourselves, our family members, and our life situations. This also includes having realistic expectations and not comparing ourselves to others.
For your listening pleasure, April Perry teamed up with the lovely Brooke Miller, an incredible mom of three, to record a podcast just for you. We tucked our children in bed and recorded a fun, lively phone call where we discussed the following questions:
- What are some things we can do to be more accepting of ourselves and our situations?
- How do we determine realistic expectation for ourselves?
- What is the difference between admiring good qualities in other women and comparing ourselves?
- How do we balance “acceptance of our lives while always striving for growth” vs. “complacency and settling for less than we want or deserve”?
We’ll admit that we felt a little nervous for the first few minutes (we’ve “accepted” that), but once we got into the podcast, we had SUCH a great time, and we both felt totally uplifted by the conversation. So the next time you have some laundry to fold, a cupboard to organize, or some free time to kick up your feet and listen to a meaningful conversation, join us!

Just listened to this and it really made my day. You two expressed so many of my own thoughts and responded to them with tidbits of wisdom. I had lots of ah-ha moments for me while listening to this. Thanks for all your hard work to put this together!
