Podcasts have changed my (April’s) life in SO many ways. Honestly, it was the gateway towards many of my best friendships. It’s helped me to connect with hundreds of thousands of family-centered individuals around the world. It’s been the means for solving some of my biggest problems. I love podcasts.
So how does that apply to mothers? In today’s episode with John Lee Dumas, founder of Podcasters’ Paradise and host of the top-rated podcast, “Entrepreneur on Fire,” we’re going to walk you through some simple ways you can turn to podcasts to bless your life AND we’ll show you how easy it is to create your OWN show. I know…sounds scary. I promise it’s not.

April, LOVED your chat with John! Thank you so much for this 🙂
30 sec into it – I turned it off. I felt instantly in my spirit that we already do TOO much. He says something like “you’re probably listening while you’re doing several other things..” We are a culture doing TOO many things at the same time barely giving anything our FULL attention. I’m sorry to disagree but Moms/women don’t need to learn how to podcast, as much as it hurts to say this, they’re already talking and advising too much. And we’re continually moving!..working, schooling, cleaning, cooking, gardening, errands/appointments, and so on. We need to be better listeners…not talkers. We need to learn to turn off the electronics and sit quietly, whether that’s with a family member giving them our undivided attention or alone meditating. Wisdom comes with prudence, not the next worldly piece of information floating around on the Internet. Just my two cents.
Suzanne, this probably sounds crazy, but I wholeheartedly AGREE with you! What you’ve outlined sounds like a beautiful, wise plan. I think the ideas in this podcast will resonate differently with mothers at various stages. When my children were younger, there was no way I was looking for a way to do more of what wouldn’t fill me. But at different times in our lives, when we have time and energy to either listen to a podcast–or potentially be a guest on a podcast, or even run a podcast, I have seen so much good come of it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and I applaud you for only spending time in a way that fills you and your family. Much love!
I didn’t hear an answer to the question of how do we find podcasts? I’d love to listen to more but I don’t know how to find them. Thanks!
Hi Melissa! If you search on iTunes, you can see top-ranked podcasts, different topics, etc., and if you ask friends on Facebook, etc., you can usually get some good recommendations. I love “This is Your Life” with Michael Hyatt, and I also podcast at LearnDoBecome Radio. 🙂 Glad to have you with us!
