Becoming a mother was one of those “dream come true” fairy tales for me. As I was growing up, I always wished to become a mother “someday”. I loved to carry other people’s children around. When I was about 21, I even took my sweet little nephew to sleep at my home when he was just 3 months old. My love for children has always been great, but man oh man does this love multiply by the thousands when you have your own!
I think back to the day that each of my children were born. What a marvelous day! What a great blessing to have them in my arms. What a huge responsibility I felt then. Even though our days as moms are filled with daily chores, the reward for it all is so very worth it.
I am the type of mom that constantly hugs and kisses my children and reminds them with words that I love them. I smother them as much as I can! (Maybe too much at times, but can you ever really show them your love too much?) We were coming home last night from dinner at a relative’s home and my husband had our sleeping ten-month-old in his arms and I had our 3-year-old daughter in my arms. As we were coming up the stairs, I was suddenly hit with a feeling of immense love for my children. It hit me as I was kissing my daughter’s cheek. Her sweet little cheeks were kindly receiving my soft kisses, my kind love for her. Oh my goodness, if only everyone could feel that deep love that I felt at that special moment! I was enamored with the fact that she was mine, my daughter, and that Heavenly Father had entrusted her to me. Ah, what a great revelation that was!
Seeing her delicate, soft skin was something so amazing to me at that moment too. Sometimes we get too busy doing everything else that we take these little details for granted: their soft skin, their sweet smell, their little cheeks, hands, nails, face, nose, etc…ah, I just love it all and at that moment I took it all in. I am so very thankful for that special moment and reminder!
A mother’s love cannot ever be replaced. It can never be compared to any other love. It will never end. Such an intense, deep love is rooted in the special care and affection we have for our children and it is God who has given each mother this great loving sentiment to nurture those sweet spirits of His.
QUESTION: Do you feel your love for your children is incomparable? Why?
CHALLENGE: Take time to tell your children that you love them at least once a day. Take time to feel their sweet, soft skin. Take time to admire the “tiny-ness” of their souls. Take a moment and have tickle time together. Take time to store that joyous baby laughter into your heart and it will be yours forever.

Thanks for these great reminders of the Father’s love for us, He rejoices over US with singing, He holds US (moms) in the Palm of His Hands… He is a good Father, thanks for encouraging us to pass that love along to our little ones & big ones each day. It must be from our “overflow”, we have to first receive that love from Him… Blessings to you today!! Bask in His Love!!
