But sometimes those expectations are totally unrealistic–and sometimes it’s downright painful to look at our lives and see everything we’re NOT.
Prior to motherhood, we knew we were doing a good job when we got a raise or a good grade, right? But now it’s not always so clear.
Join April Perry and Allyson Reynolds, two of the authors in the new book from Power of Moms, Motherhood Realized, as they discuss their own experiences struggling with this concept and offer three concrete ways to stop the insanity.

This was a great podcast! I love them all, but this one really stands out. Allyson was terrific! You really should have her on podcasts more often!!
Thanks Katrina! I agree. It was SO fun to talk with Allyson. Thanks for listening! If you have a second, we would LOVE for you to give Power of Moms Radio a review and a rating on iTunes. Thanks!!
Thanks, Katrina! I wish I could do a podcast every day with April (and never get out of my pajamas–haha!), so I hope I get the chance again soon!!
Awesome podcast! There are so many definitions of a “good mom” out there but they are all made up in our silly little minds! Love the idea that no matter what our idea of a good mom is, we are exactly the mom OUR kids need! Thanks for the reminder Allyson and April 🙂
Love that you got that point from this podcast–it’s a powerful one! Thanks for listening!
Loved listening in on this. POM podcasts make me feel like I just had a positive, uplifting, real conversation with a close friend.

That’s exactly what it is, Rebecca!!
Man, did I NEED this right now!! I have been feeling this so much lately. That my whole life I have been able to accomplish anything I put my mind to and succeed! Then I became a mom and put all my heart and soul into this endeavor, yet I just don’t feel like I am succeeding at motherhood, the most important thing that I have ever done or attempted to do. I have been feeling like I am failing my children and becoming the mom I just don’t want to be and raising kids that are not the kids that would be the product of a mom that works so hard to make their lives wonderful and focused on this for all the years of their little lives! And man, you ladies let me know that not only am I not the only one feeling like this, but that it really is not as horrible as it feels on my bad days! Thanks all you deliberate moms, we need this!
Thanks Lisa! You are DEFINITELY not alone. So glad to have you with us here at Power of Moms! This comment you left would be PERFECT as an iTunes rating/review for other moms to read. If you have iTunes and can paste this in there on our podcast page, that would be wonderful! xoxoxo https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/power-of-moms-radio/id806993336?mt=2
April, This was my first attempt with itunes podcasts. I think I successfully put the comment there. I will now put a bunch of these on my ipod for instant access. Thanks Lisa
