I (April) recently had the chance to be on Rachel Nielson’s ‘3 in 30’ Podcast to share a step-by-step process for getting out of overwhelm. This is a topic I am incredibly passionate about, so I hope you love the recording–but I also want to make sure you subscribe to Rachel’s podcast and check out all the other awesome episodes she has available for you. I am so, so proud of her and all that she has created.
In this episode Rachel and I talk about: having a focused list and clearly identified next actions, saying no graciously, and taking ownership for our overwhelm. If you’re feeling the least bit overwhelmed, these principles can help you breathe a little more easily and enjoy your family even more.

I recently listened to this great episode, and I have a question. If I write down 300 projects and pick 5 to do this month, and probably 5 new ones will get added each month, what happens to the 295? Sure, some will never happen, but I have a hard time believing they are all not important. I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Great question! The short answer is that we are humans, and we can’t do 300 projects a month. 🙂 We have to choose, and that means saying no to MOST of what we want to do. The question isn’t whether they are all important. The question is which ones are the MOST important. And when you choose and accomplish 5 projects that are MOST important, you feel way better than if you were to sit and stare at 300 without making decisions. 🙂 Once you start building momentum on the most important projects, you’ll find you’re okay saying no to those that simply aren’t your highest priority. Hope that helps!
