Do you ever feel like moving forward in your life is nearly impossible? Does it seem like there are too many reasons why you can’t reach your goals or do something you enjoy?
Motherhood isn’t easy, and there are thousands of details that need to be managed every day. But what if there were some simple strategies you could implement into your life that would help you see progress–real progress–on a regular basis? What if you could actually see yourself becoming your best self? And what if that didn’t mean you had to neglect the most precious people in your life?
The Learning Circle article, Defying Gravity, has inspired thousands of moms around the world, and now we’ve got it in an audio format just for you. So sit back (or go for a nice walk!), listen to the ideas shared in this post, and then consider how you can start on a new adventure today.

Every time I listen to one of your podcasts (I listen to the ALL) I think “I’ve got to email them and thank them for this amazing podcast!” And then I don’t. So, this is a belated thank you for ALL of your podcasts, including this one. They are all so encouraging and inspiring and relevant. Just keep doing what you are doing… you are doing it so well!
Jeanette, you are so kind! Thank you for taking the time to write this. We’re so grateful to have you in our community. (And if you’d like to rate/review the POM Radio podcast on iTunes, we’d love that!) Please let us know what topics you’d like us to cover in the future. 🙂
Thank you, I loved this! I am going to do my best to defy gravity!!
With four kids two of which are two and under I often feel like I’m trying to get things done with one arm tied behind my back. This is much of the time very real but sometimes even when my hands are empty I still feel this way. I appreciated hearing that I can work on controlling my thoughts and my reactions to things. I love that I can work through the things holding me back, defy gravity, and work towards goals that I have for myself. This was perfectly timed for me!
So happy to hear, Kim! I hear you with the “one arm tied behind your back.”
So glad you’re with us!
April I love that you often accompany me on my morning walk! I started a virtual learning circle recently and I’m so excited about it. I have a group of amazing moms that live all over the country. We have a Facebook group where we chat not only about the articles but all sorts of other things. I am loving it! There’s an option for those who may not have a group of moms close by or don’t have time to meet often.
What a fantastic idea, Cheryl! I love what a leader you are. xoxo
My kids (4 and 2) and I were coloring and I turned on this podcast to have something interesting to think about. I didn’t realize my son Rex, 4, was listening carefully too! He asked about mid-way, “Mom is this show for Mom’s who don’t know what to do during quiet time?” What a hoot! If only!
Thanks for your great website. I am loving the podcasts.
This made me smile. So cute! Yes, we are so, so bored during quiet time. What are we to DO with ourselves? 🙂 Thanks for your kind words and your work as a deliberate mother! Thrilled to have you with us, Mary.
