Who doesn’t enjoy the wonderful magic that Disney brings to everyone’s heart, both young and old? Our family loves to visit each time we have the opportunity. I enjoy everything so much I feel like I transform into a little girl again. It’s funny how I am affected by that “Disney Magic” even after going for so many years; even though I am now a wife and mother. Even when “Disney on Ice” comes to town, we always make sure we go. We love to see all those wonderful characters skating their routines. We love the fun they bring to all that attend. Though above all else, we love to see the excitement in our children’s eyes.
Our daughter loves to dress up every time we attend a “Disney on Ice” show. Last night she decided to dress up as Belle. We rode the Metro Light Rail to the event to make it that much more special. After we arrived and got to our seats, the show began. I was watching my daughter’s sweet little face attentively to see the excitement in her countenance as the show began. It just lit up – it was wonderful! Eventually, the time came when all the princesses made their appearance at the same time. I wish I could have recorded the sound of her voice, the thrill in her face, and the magic in her eyes! I will always treasure that “Kodak Moment” in my heart. She was thrilled to see “herself” (Belle) out there, skating and having so much fun!
After the evening was over, I reflected on the fact that the magic of life doesn’t necessarily need to be reserved just for fun events like these. The magic of life should be captured and lived every single day of our lives! We can create many magical moments in our own homes. We can be creative in the fun activities we provide for our children. At the very least, we can be there to enjoy the “magic” that is present simply because of the innocent nature of our children.
QUESTION: How do you create magical moments right in your own home?
CHALLENGE: Make a special attempt to create some magic in your own home. Take time to see the wonder in your children’s eyes, and enjoy knowing you were part of creating that magical spirit in your home.
