But when you look at the stats, it’s shocking to see just how easy it can be for children (and adults) to be hurt, bullied, or abused. So–without panicking or freaking out–we’re going to take a half hour to hear some incredible advice from former NCIS Special Agent Heather Ryan, who is also a deliberate mother!

Hi Sarah! I’m incredibly happy to hear that the interview inspired you to think about a self-defense course! If you’re interested in a local course I would look for something taught by prior law enforcement. Lots of martial arts places offer classes but you don’t need fancy moves just the basics. Alternatively we have a course coming out on Feb 9th through Get Safe Academy that has an entire module dedicated to self-defense. We incorporate basic skills that can be used by your entire family. The great thing about the video is that you can watch it over & over. The program also has modules on basic family safety advice, social media 101, and how to coach your kids to have a positive digital footprint. Either way, your making such an important decision to keep your family safe! If you have any other questions please feel free to reach out!
