A1. The advice we received when we were new parents was to treat our children like guests. So when they spill the milk, you say, "No problem, here let me get you a towel."

Whenever I find myself cleaning up a real disaster (diaper ointment all over the stairs, an entire can of Pam sprayed on the kitchen floor, a box of baking soda emptied on the lowest shelf of the pantry, whatever) I remember that "crisis cleaning" still counts as cleaning, so whatever chore I complete gets to move to the bottom of the running list. It helps me think I'm not completely wasting my time because I would have to clean that area at some point anyway.
