A1. One thing my own mother did was tell her children since they were toddlers what wonderful, obedient, kind children they were. We grew up with this perception and tried to become and act as she had described and treated us. I don't have teenagers yet, but I have noticed what a difference such expectations and confidence makes even with young children.
