About Us
The Power of Moms has been organized by Saren Eyre Loosli (of St. George, Utah) and April Perry (of Corona, California)--and even though we love our families and have a lot of ideas to share, this site has been set up to feature YOU
.
We wanted a place where motivated mothers who are looking for inspiration, empowerment, support, and opportunities to share what they've learned about motherhood could come together and uplift each other. Regardless of your income, education, religion, location, family size, or employment status, if you are striving to be the best mom and person you can be – this is the place!
With nine children between our two families, it's certainly a juggle to run an organization...so why do we do it? We both feel a very strong desire to strengthen families, and from our own experiences, we know how hard some days can be--but how worthwhile this whole process is.
Families are important. Great mothers are crucial to healthy nations...but who's there to take care of the mothers? We are. All of us. The Power of Moms enables mothers to "grow themselves, build each other, and shape the future." It's not about Saren. It's not about April. It's about Mothers. Because mothers matter.

What is the purpose of The Power of Moms?
Our purpose is to inspire and empower you to become the mom and person you are meant to be while giving you the opportunity to help other mothers grow into the mothers they are meant to be.
Just as members of other “professions” have their professional organizations and websites, we see The Power of Moms as the “professional organization” for mothers everywhere who take their “job” as a mother very seriously and desire a network of other mothers that can provide ideas, inspiration and empowerment. When we want real, down-to-earth, uplifting advice, we generally turn to other mothers. It is other mothers who actually know, first-hand, what we are going through and who can provide us with the best answers to our questions and the highest quality support. But in today's world, mothers are often isolated from one another, and meaningful conversations are few and far between. This website aims to change this.
The Power of Moms connects mothers who put their families on the top of their priority lists in an optimistic, welcoming, and empowering online community. With help from The Power of Moms, we can all teach other mothers in areas where we are strong and seek guidance in areas where we need encouragement.
What makes The Power of Moms different from other websites for mothers?
Our focus is on strengthening mothers as women and as people who have chosen to make motherhood a primary focus in their lives. Unlike most motherhood-related sites, we don't talk about cooking, shopping, cleaning, decorating, potty-training, or controversial topics...so what DO we talk about? Check out the site to find out!
Many of the books and websites available to mothers instruct us on how to do more, how to do it faster, and how to do it better – and we can often come away feeling more guilty or confused that we did in the first place. Some websites offer moms the chance to “vent” about their husbands or misbehaving children. Others offer unmoderated discussions on a great number of topics – and it can take too much of our precious time to plow through the “fluff” to find the inspiration and information we desire. Most motherhood websites bombard us with advertisements and some focus on trying to sell us products that will bring “happiness” to our lives. Very few voices are interested in helping us become truly happy mothers. That's why we're here! We link as much of our content as possible to suggested ACTION. There are plenty of places on the Internet to get ideas and read wonderful articles. But our site couples ideas with concrete suggestions and challenges. Everything we offer has a "do" component.
- You'll see that each essay includes a challenge at the end - something you can DO in response to whatever rang true to you in that essay.
- We give you a Monthly Challenge and a Monthly Value to help you work systematically towards enriching your home life.
- We invite you to become a writer and share your best thoughts with moms who need your strength.
- We encourage you to forward information on to your friends and ask them to join you in powerful group discussions, giving you the ability to take action in helping others take action.
- We provide great resources to bring more fun, service, order, and purpose to your family life.
- We offer workshops, e-books, and other powerful products to make your motherhood experience the best it can be.
What are the basic beliefs that fuel The Power of Moms?
We believe that motherhood is a valuable and valiant pursuit and that mothers need and deserve more support, appreciation and opportunities to learn from each other. We believe that mothers are precious and indispensable—we bring children into the world and strengthen societies by loving and nurturing our little ones. We are heroes to our children as we create homes of safety, warmth, and love—while throwing in some tickle fights and blanket-tent-construction.
We, at The Power of Moms, extend our appreciation to those mothers who are doing the best they can to build strong families. We also acknowledge that behind our noble efforts are many complex challenges and hidden feelings of depression, guilt, or frustration. We believe it's important for mothers to feel connected to other mothers and to have opportunities to share what they know so that -bit by bit - they can become who they really want to be.
In the midst of all of the sacrifices that we make to care for our families, we sometimes forget that mothers are people, too. We believe that even in the midst of mounds of laundry and children's interruptions, moms can and should find time and resources to nurture themselves.

What is the significance of the daisy on The Power of Moms logo?
We know--a daisy isn't a very "powerful" symbol is it? Just consider the following: A mother's power is not through her muscles--nor is it through her pocketbook, her resume, her gift of persuasion, her looks, or her popularity. A mom's power comes through who she really is--her beauty and goodness on the inside that attracts her family and community to her because she loves them and inspires them to want to be great.
Daisies are tough flowers. They don't wimp out easily. They don't attract the most attention out of all the flowers at the stand, but they are consistently beautiful, bright, and happy. The daisy (named in the 17th century by Carolis Linnaeus) represents purity and innocence. Among all the meanings listed for the daisy, not one has a negative connotation. All meanings for the daisy are positive in nature. Moms are the bearers of and leaders of the pure and the innocent. The work they do is challenging, but positive in nature (think pregnancy, nursing, bathing, providing for, cleaning, hugging, feeding...).
American colonists treated cuts and bruises with a daisy lotion, and American books from the late 30s still refer to the daisy's medical power for hearts. Daisies are described as durable, adaptable, and as a symbol for excellence. Mothers, like daisies, heal cuts, bruises, and hearts. They are tough, adaptable, and committed to excellence in all areas of their lives. We love daisies.
Join Us!
It's free and simple to join us as we discuss how we, as healthy mothers, can think, act, live and progress as mothers and as people. This website is a resource mothers can access at any time of the day or night—whether we have showered that day or not. It is a place where we can record what we have learned, celebrate moments we have had with our children, express appreciation to other mothers, and get new ideas about how to become the mothers and women we have always dreamed of becoming.
Click here to find out more about how you can join The Power of Moms and get involved. Or, if you'd like to take on a leadership position within our organization, please email saren@powerofmoms.com or april@powerofmoms.com. We are always looking for new energy, new ideas, and more help!
