When you walk by a store window or a mirror in your home, do your eyes immediately dart to your “problem” areas? Have you ever looked at your post-baby body and felt incredibly frustrated by what you see? Do you want to develop a healthy–even wonderful–perspective about your body so you can better appreciate who you really are?
And would you like to pass that healthy perspective on to your children?
The more I learn about body image issues among mothers and children, the more I see that we need to be discussing these issues openly–in an optimistic, positive way that will encourage us to care for ourselves, help us withstand the lies of the media, and create an environment in our homes that emphasizes the real beauty and confidence.
This podcast with Lindsay Kite of Beauty Redefined is one of the most informative, enlightening, uplifting discussions about body image that I have ever had in my life.
Learn real tips and strategies to love and appreciate the beauty that is in each one of us.

I cried while I listened to this. Once upon a time I was on the right path to accepting myself. Then I had another baby and let it all slide. I even used to blog about this. You’ve inspired me. I’m going to get back on the wagon. Thanks.

Ok, first of all, I have to tell you that I listened to three Power of Moms podcasts this morning while at the gym and doing housework. I just love what you have here and what you are doing.
This podcast was so important. The topic is one I think about a lot. I have one daughter, and I try to have very open discussions with her about these issues, but I’m also finding that this affects boys as well. The girls at school tease my (gorgeous) 14 year old about being “cute, but too skinny”. I am guessing that the media is mostly to blame for this as well, as the girls see so many images of muscular guys in ads aimed at their age group.
I am a big Pinterest user, and have made it a point to “unfollow” all the boards that my friends have of fitness and beauty issues… I got so sick and tired of photos of barely dressed women with ridiculously rock-hard bodies popping up on my feed, with captions like “six-pack abs in just 5 minutes”!
Keep it up Power of Moms. I tell everyone I can about your website!
