When I (April) started reading Julie Morgenstern’s books, I felt like I’d found a hero and a mentor–someone who could really understand and improve my life as a mother.

You can imagine how excited I was to have the chance to interview her on a Power of Moms podcast. (Especially since she jumped on the phone with me just a few minutes after being interviewed by Katie Couric. Isn’t that fun?)

Great podcast! Another tip that I’ve found helpful for breaking the smartphone / email habit is to go into your smartphone settings and turn off the sound or vibration that goes off every time you get an email. It’s made it much easier for me to let it go!

This came at the perfect time! We just talked last night about starting to organize one space at a time – so thanks!! I also appreciated the idea of digital breaks for the first and last hours of the day – I know I don’t sleep as well when I’m on email til late, really needed the reminder. And I’m definitely going to carve out that “sacred” time to do something I want to do!!!

Thank you for the podcast. I was intrigued by the discussion about devices. It left me wondering how I can help my husband and children let go of their devices more without them feeling like its a punishment. Do you have any suggestions?
