I (April) read a blog post recently that absolutely floored me.
It was about a mom who, for her 40th birthday, decided that she wanted to do 40 acts of kindness.
But she wasn’t thinking small here–she involved an entire crew (including her 15-year-old daughter), and they spent a full day (and several weeks of preparation) blessing those in their community–in very meaningful ways.
Honestly, it’s amazing. You’ll definitely want to visit the full birthday post on Amy and Michaela’s Blog, Making Life Whimsical.
So I got together with the birthday girl (Amy) and her friend/blog partner/co-”Giving Crew” member (Michaela), and what resulted was a fun, inspirational podcast that will tell you how you could make this into a family tradition at your house–on any budget of time or energy.
It’s about kindness inspiring kindness.

Amy was also kind enough to let me include a photo of her planning sheet. She carried this piece of paper around with her for weeks as she brainstormed service ideas, set up her budget, and organized which ones she would do in which order. So inspiring.

I absolutely loved this! I keep sharing it with everyone I know because I think it’s such a great inspiration for kindness. I’m already dreaming up my own version of this for my family and friends to do.
